From 2001-2004 I used to teach middle school in the city of Compton, CA, and would make my own money to give to the students as an incentive to get their work done. I started with $1 bills only but soon kids were hoarding the things and the single bills gradually lost value. So I made like Bernanke and created more money, in higher denominations, out of thin air. No one really seemed to notice.
I didn’t have a lot of time to make music back then, especially in my first year, but I did make some. This is a track I made back in 2002 with my trusty SP-808 and Digital Performer. It’s rough, real rough, I was still learning a lot about a lot (still am).
