The stairwell in my apartment building has a closet for garbage and recycling. Both of today’s sounds are based on the door to this closet.

I’m at the AAAS conference in Chicago right now, but still trying to keep disciplined about making sounds for my RPM challenge album. My only time to work is early in the morning, so perhaps these are the sounds of the transition from non-awake to awake.
